The brief for this typical urban site was to balance a comfortable family home with ample entertaining spaces and partitioned living areas. The client also wanted to include a variety of light-filled, stimulating spaces, and a swimming pool that integrated with the main living areas of the home.

The brief was met with a 3.6m high living room with a wraparound pool that extends to two courtyards giving alternative options for outdoor living, depending on time of day or season. A double height void at entry also bisects the house, flooding the centre of the home with light.

The result – an amalgam of contemporary design, details, and surprise, without compromising functionality.
