An expansive outlook over the owners own property and beyond is what informs and dominates the design of this single storey country residence. Outlook, sun, outdoor living, privacy, access, and context all guiding the design to its final form.

Ensuring a seamless flow from inside and out, all habitable rooms were designed to enjoy the outlook and sunlight. The higher ceilings and clerestory windows to the grand living room not only provide additional volume and light, but add a hierarchical clarity to the external massing of the home.

The clients also requested a clear and obvious point of arrival which would be well separated from the outdoor living areas, and also privacy between parents and children’s areas. This is all resolved within a straightforward but strong floor plan.
