We’ve stood the test of time

Glenvill has lived and breathed innovation since its first inception. When founder Michael Warson set out on the journey of starting the business that would become Glenvill Homes, he was the only to builder to have had the idea to build multiple homes. It is this type of visionary talent that has been behind much of Glenvill’s early success.

Following the formal establishment of Glenvill in 1958, the company quickly grew a reputation for building quality, modern homes. Keen to continue to drive innovative thinking and break into new territory, Glenvill opened two display homes in Doncaster in 1960, becoming the first builder in Melbourne to open a physical display home—something which is now commonplace throughout the industry.

Over the next few decades Glenvill went from strength to strength, winning their first Housing Industry Association (HIA) award for Best Display Home in 1969, which was soon followed by a raft of other HIA, Master Builders Association (MBA) and other industry awards. Today Glenvill is Australia’s most awarded builder, which is testament to the exceptional quality and superb craftsmanship typical of Glenvill Homes.

Throughout the 1980s, Glenvill ventured into a range of projects including high-rise apartments, dual-occupancy homes, retirement villages, townhouses and commercial property development, all while also introducing a range of architecturally designed homes suitable for the inner suburbs.

In 1991, Michael’s son Len took over Glenvill and restructured the business to position it as a specialist in premium and high-end housing.

It was at this point that Glenvill chose to become the first home builder to incorporate custom design and construction under a single roof. This introduced new synergies which enabled Glenvill to create truly contemporary designer homes, creating a new standard in the Australian construction industry.

Glenvill has since continued to evolve to develop a diversified portfolio, specialising in bespoke residential design and construction, medium-density housing projects and large-scale property developments.

One thing has however remained a constant throughout Glenvill’s evolution—an ongoing commitment to the innovative thinking, cutting-edge design and quality craftsmanship that goes into every single Glenvill home. It’s this approach that has contributed to Glenvill’s success, having built more than 10,000 homes in the almost 60 years that it’s been a major player in the Australian building and construction industry.
