At Glenvill Homes, the decision to embrace Hamptons-inspired design was driven by the passion of our customers. To learn more about what makes this architectural style so iconic, we spoke with Matthew Stojko, our Interior Designer and Georgia Dean, our Product Design Manager. They shared insights into the creative journey of designing Glenvill’s unique take on the Hamptons facade.
When asked what makes the Hamptons style so inspiring, Georgia explained that “People associate the Hamptons with wealth, glamour and prestige. It’s aspirational, a look that feels luxurious but approachable. While we initially hesitated to create a Hamptons facade, customer demand ultimately encouraged us to take it on”. Matthew added “the challenge for us was to honour the grandeur and character of the Hamptons aesthetic while staying true to Glenvill’s minimalist, texture-focused identity.”
The Hamptons aesthetic is all about detail and proportion featuring decorative timber fretwork, weatherboard cladding, round windows carefully positioned above porches, exposed rafter tails under the eaves and wide, welcoming porches. Georgia emphasised the importance of balance, for Glenvill, “incorporating these elements required meticulous attention to detail across multiple designs.” Matthew noted, “each builder puts their own spin on the Hamptons facade. Some make it broad and flat, while others add depth. We aimed for a perfect balance.”
A true Hamptons-inspired home extends its charm indoors. Bright, airy interiors with white cabinetry, natural timber tones, and contrasting hardware in gold or gunmetal are essential. Georgia and Matthew highlighted Glenvill’s use of darker flooring for contrast, giving their interpretation a modern twist. Matthew explained that “it’s all about creating a seamless flow between the exterior and interior. We wanted to ensure the design feels cohesive and luxurious.”
When asked about their favourite aspects of the design, Georgia shared her love for the porch: “For me, it’s the porch, the decorative posts and how it projects outward to create a welcoming entryway.” Whilst Matthew highlighted the layering of textures: “I love the mix of weatherboards, rafter tails, and decorative posts. It adds so much depth and visual interest.”
While many builders offer Hamptons facades, Glenvill’s version is distinct. Instead of ornate, over-detailed designs, Glenvill prioritised clean lines and texture to create a facade that feels timeless yet modern. Georgia summed it up: “We’ve captured the grandeur of the Hamptons while staying true to our brand’s values. The result is a design that’s as sophisticated as it is inviting.”
